At YourWayCareLink, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our rural and urban communities. We manage personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a safe and empowered care-linking environment, we collect:

  • Support Workers: Full name, contact details, bank information for payments, Driver’s License copies, Police Vetting results, First Aid certifications, and professional experience.

  • Clients/Families: Contact details, geographic location, and specific care requirements or health information necessary to match with a Support Worker.

3. How We Use and Share Information

  • Vetting & Safety: We use worker identity documents and Police Vetting results to verify safety and qualifications before account activation.

  • Client Choice: Support Worker profiles (including experience and hourly rates, but excluding private contact details) are shared with Clients to facilitate their power of choice.

  • Professional Advocacy: Our team of Nursing, Legal, and Business professionals may review your health or employment information to advocate on your behalf with funding bodies (such as Te Whatu Ora) or to assist in resolving clinical concerns.

  • Legal Obligations: We may share relevant information with regulatory bodies (such as the Health and Disability Commissioner) if required for a safety investigation or by law.

4. Storage and Security

  • Secure Infrastructure: All sensitive documents, including Police Vetting results and First Aid certificates, are stored in encrypted digital environments.

  • Confidentiality: Support Workers are contractually bound to keep all Client health and personal information strictly confidential.

  • Data Retention: We only keep your information for as long as is necessary to provide our services or as required by New Zealand tax and health records laws.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact the YourWayCareLink administration team.
